- The lacing tunnel is used to attach flags to a flagpole (wood, aluminium, metal), the pole is pulled through the tunnel and additionally tied with laces located at the left corners of the flag.
- The ring attachment is most commonly used for hoisting the flag on the flagpole. It is important that the flagpole is already fitted with cords or carabiners to secure the flag. The rings are plastic and are no less durable than metal rings, but they weigh less than metal rings and do not rust.
- Carabiners are used for hoisting flags on the mast. This method of attachment is used by connecting the carabiners to the mast lines, carabiners or loops.
- The lacing is most commonly used when the above options are not suitable or the flag is not attached to the pole or flagpole.
